Recently, we were honored to find that Tampa Bay Online* featured Outdoor Lighting Perspectives in an article about Brightening Up The Night. The article was about how our outdoor lighting systems can really showcase the architectural and outdoor living areas of your home and how lighting can call attention to landscaping that would disappear into darkness.
The article by Helene Achanzar, published April 21, 2012 goes on to say:
For many homeowners, a yard is the perfect place to spend time with family and friends. Whether splashing around in a pool, enjoying a private garden or simply lounging on a front porch, a home’s outdoor space can be an ideal entertaining area.
But why should the fun stop at sunset? With outdoor lighting, enjoying the outdoors after dark is a breeze.
“It’s amazing what outdoor lighting can do for a home’s curb appeal,” said Robert van der Putten of Clearwater-based Outdoor Lighting Perspectives. “When you’re used to traditional porch lights near a door or garage, you’ll typically see the bulbs and light source. Indirect lighting is much more appealing and can highlight architectural elements that might disappear into the darkness at night.”
One of the most common types of residential outdoor lights is pathway lighting. Such lights can provide sure-footed safety at night by drawing attention to pedestrian hazards such as grade changes, but they can also showcase nearby gardens or decorative features. This is usually done with fixtures placed along a walkway. Partially shielded path lights offer glare-free security for surfaces such as brick pavers or stairs while illuminating attractive elements in the vicinity.
Another popular option is hardscape lighting, which brightens areas like patios, pool decks and driveways. Moonlighting, a technique that positions a light source above trees and diffuses light through leaves and branches, can illuminate outdoor living spaces with a natural effect.
We would love to help you illuminate your outdoor living areas to extend the time you can spend outdoors. Call us today to see how we can help.
